L: The
grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the peace and beauty of God, and the kinship of the Holy Spirit be with you always.
P: And always with you.
L: On
the first day of the new year, let us gather in oneness with our sister and brothers to celebrate God's free gift of eternal
life..
P: We hear the call to rekindle our spirits and to
rceive strength for our common tasks.
L:
As we begin the year anew, let us celebrate the signs of God's omnipotent power - God's mercy, God's peace, and God's
love.
P: Let us open our hearts to
accept these gifts. Let us treasure our health, homes, and freedom, seeking always the grace to walk in God's ways.
L: May the glory of the
Lord endure now and always.
All:
Let the light of Jesus Christ shine forever and ever. Amen

Prayer for Grace (unison)
God of mercy, God of love, we confess we have been less than we can be. We've been lazy an satisfied
with shallow pleasures. We have failed to dig deeper, toward you, and toward one another. When you sent Jesus
to save the lost, the person you had in mind, i know, was me. We have ignored your truth and have lived for ourselves.
Lord, forgive us we pray. (silent confessions...)
Lord, have mercy upon us.
Return us to the path of righteousness for your name's sake, through Jesus Christ, Amen.
