We have sponsored Boy Scout Troop #288 since 1971 and Venture Crew #188
since 2001. They have helped us with many of our projects around the church and each year the boys of the troop prepare
and do the worship service on Scout Sunday. They have great leadership and we are proud to see how these young boys
become young mature men. We are very glad to be a part of this great opportunity to prepare the young boys of today
for the future of our country tomorrow.. To learn more

Edward M. Murphy, Scout of the Year Award
Each year at the annual dinner, a scout who has met the criteria
of showing good scout spirit, has advanced, has good attendance and up-to-date dues, participates in all troop and district
activities, (fund raisers, camp outs, meetings, etc) and wears his uniform is eligible to receive this award. The award
was created in 1979 in memory of Mr. Edward M. Murphy who was the Troop Committee Chairman at the time of his death.

There have been thirty-seven boys earn the Eagle award in the Troop and five more,
who moved to other areas and continued on the trail to Eagle in other Troops.
We just recently had our 40th Eagle Scout Board of Review.
